Swap-tastic Christmas

So I know I mentioned my new obsession with crafting swaps in an earlier entry so it shouldn't come as any surprise that I joined another one just for the holiday season.  This one was called the Stocking Stuffer Swap, hosted by Kathie at Two Frog Home, and I have to say I had a great time making my stuffers.  There were no requirements except that everything had to be handmade and pretty small in size so as to fit multiple things into aforementioned stockings.  It was pretty cool how she divided the names too.  Instead of just making one big thing for one person you made one little thing for everybody.  Plus that way you get way more goodies in your own mailbox.

I've been looking for an excuse to try out this bird ornament tutorial for a while.  Of course I put my own little twist by adding some tail plumage (aka 1 craft feather) to my bird that wasn't originally called for.  They came out awesome and I cant wait to make one for my own tree.  Wouldn't it be cool to make all different colors?
So the other thing that went into my packets were gift tags that I made on my current favorite thing....my Cricut Machine!  I never thought I could justify buying one cuz they are so pricey but good old Joanne Fabric had them on sale on black Friday for $59.99  That's like 75% off!  So I was trying to figure out what would be my new project with this amazing machine and then I found out it can make gift tags.  Really the question is what can't this machine make.  Believe me you will be seeing a lot more fancy things as I get the handle of using it.  This was what went into my little packets.
So now all that's left to do is wait for the last of my packets to arrive in the mail.  A good number of the girls in the swap sent their stuff way earlier so I've already received some great stuff.  Once I get everything I'll do another post just to show you the variety of stuff I got.  So far everything is awesome!

Craft on!
Anita
